Roblox Experiences for the Next Generation

Roblox is a game creation system and online game platform created by Roblox Corporation. It enables users to create games as well as play games created by other users. The platform, founded in 2004 by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel and released in 2006, hosts user-created games of various genres. Roblox is a global platform where millions of people gather every day to imagine, create, and share their experiences in immersive, user-generated 3D worlds. The types of gameplay available on Roblox are as varied as the creators' imaginations.

Roblox is looking for game developers and studios, including those new to our platform, who enjoy experimenting with new technology and want the chance to realize their incredible vision. And, to assist them in achieving their creative goals, we've launched a Game Fund to provide the resources they need to create the next generation of Roblox experiences.

Applications are now being accepted. Our goal is to work closely with you to provide not only funding but also the support you need to push the boundaries of what Roblox experiences can offer. The first few applications have already been approved, including neonKnights, an isometric cyberpunk role-playing game; Rolling Thunder, a realistic military first-person action game; and Winds of Fortune, an open-world seafaring adventure.

Projects That Qualify

We're looking for projects with unique gameplay, ambitious visual designs, and creative ideas that are unlike anything else on the platform. We'll prioritize ideas that include:

Multiplayer, cross-platform gameplay with mobile optimization
The role of social mechanics in the experience
In-game avatars that reflect aspects of the user's platform avatar identity
The ability to use "metaverse" items (i.e., items that can be equipped on platform avatars, like the ones in the Avatar Shop)
If you are accepted into the program, we will work with you to define key deliverables for your project and provide funding based on your progress toward those milestones.
